James Dimech

James Dimech is a Maltese paper artist and designer whose practice intersects sculpture, fashion, architecture and craftsmanship. Following three decades in interior architecture, he began exploring paper as an artistic medium in 2016. Through folding, pleating, manipulation and unconventional construction techniques, James transforms this fragile material into complex sculptural forms. His work has been exhibited internationally and recognised through several awards, including the Lucca Biennale Cartasia Achievement Award. Alongside his artistic practice, he teaches paper manipulation, sharing and developing the craftsmanship at the heart of his work.
